Preschool Math Fun: Number Hunt

Preschool Math Fun: Number Hunt

Goal: Help your child recognize numbers and practice counting using everyday objects.

What You Need

  • 3 small transparent cups (or containers)
  • Small, colorful items (e.g., buttons, beads, or cereal pieces)

How to Play

  1. Hide and Count: Hide the cups around the room. Ask your child to find them and count aloud as they collect each one: "1, 2, 3!"
  2. Count Inside: Open each cup together and count the items inside (e.g., "This cup has 3 red buttons!").
  3. Compare: Ask, "Which cup has more? Which has less?"

Why It Works

  • Builds number recognition and counting skills.
  • Turns a simple game into a fun math lesson.

Tip

Use items your child loves (e.g., toy cars, snacks) to keep it engaging!
